Went through "boot camp" and Yeoman training school at Bainbridge from late 1951 to middle of 1952 and remember my CPO Sam Vacca as one of the great guys I met while in the service. Ended up on a few MSTS transport ships as a chaplain's assistant and finally, in Norfolk with CINCLANTFLEET (or something like that)!
