Boot Camp 8-55to11-55 Co.407 MM1/c Sanderson was CC. I went to storekeepers school in Newport,RI then back to Bainbridge issuing shoes to recruits for 3months then caught a reefer (Hyades AF-28) out of Norfolk. Did 4 yrs. and ended as SK2. and still kick myself in the butt for not staying in.

My father , Norris Wielenbeck, served most of his tour, (during the korean war era) here, as a pharmisist tech. As close as I lived growing up (Harford county) to USNTC Bainbridge, I had never visited it while is service. I now live just right outside the gates on the Craigtown rd side and would like to learn more about it's history.

Posting this for my husband Raymond Ortiz (deceased 1995). Have a picture of US Quarantine Task Force CTF 137 taken in Nov. 1962. These men were in RMB school, along with the instructors, when they were pulled out to be deployed for the Cuban Crisis (aka Bay of Pigs) To my knowledge all these men were hispanic or could speak spanish. If any one remembers these dates and events, would enjoy hearing your thoughts. There were 6 chiefs, 7 RM1s and 6 RM2s. It was headed up by Rear Admiral John A. Tyree,
