I'm looking for information on my grandfather, Walter Charles Krieger, who served at Bainbridge during WWII. I can't find any info--is there a specific place to look? Walter is deceased and my dad knows very little about his service.

Just checking out the site to refresh my old memory a bit. Looking on Google Earth, it brings back some memories since the buildings aren't there anymore. But you can see where they were. I still have a picture of me standing at the welcome sign. but can't remember where the EM club or my barracks were. I "think" I remember my barracks being next to the golf course and both were off to the left of the road when you come onto base. Could be totally backwards at this point. I appreciate all of the pictures and history. I went from Radio A school, to my ship, the USS Long Beach CGN-9 in VietNam from 1972-74.
